Amid speculations of former Indian skipper MS Dhoni’s impending retirement, several fans have taken to Twitter to express their disapproval of the same as ‘DoNotRetireDhoni’ began trending on the platform on Thursday.

A lot of people are under the impression that Dhoni would be retiring following this year’s ICC World Cup. After the Indian team’s loss in the semifinals to New Zealand on Wednesday, numerous fans of the former captain took to Twitter asking him not to retire.

“#donotretiredhoni @msdhoni INDIA is really very lucky to have you MSD. Even after losing our 5 wicktes at a low score the way MSD and @imjadeja built up pressure on opposition bowlers was priceless.Kohli replaced sachin but no one else can replace you mahi bhai,” stated one fan.

Dhoni was run out for a fighting knock of 50 after he helped the team recover from a perilous position of 92 for 6. As he walked off the ground, several in the crowd stood to acknowledge the moment in tribute to Dhoni. This would most certainly be Dhoni’s last match for India in a World Cup. Several users took to Twitter to express their heartfelt wishes and gratitude for his invaluable contribution to Indian cricket.
