In a massive show of strength in Chennai, top leaders of the DMK came together to protest against Tamil Nadu government’s alleged inaction during the rains that ravaged Chennai and other districts.

DMK president M Karunanidhi, treasurer M K Stalin and other senior leaders like T R Ballu, Duraimurugan, Kanimozhi and TKS Elangovan took part in the protest.

Addressing the crowd, MK Stalin said, “Chennai floods were a manmade disaster.”

He further questioned, “Why hasn't Tamil Nadu government ordered a probe into the release of water from Chembarambakkam Lake?”

These are the major takeaways from his speech:

He accused CM J Jayalalithaa of not even speaking to any of the affected people.

There were a series of disasters during Jayalalithaa’s rule over the years. He even said many people are still reeling from the shock of tsunami 10 years ago.

He pointed out 61 people reportedly died after a building collapsed in Mugalivakkam. Enquiries have been on but nothing has happened since then.

Speaking of Chembarambakkam, the CM delayed the process in the release of water.

The CM has given compensation to many families says the government but then these are just news. Nothing has been done practically and it's all not happening. He further said that AIADMK cadres are mere puppets of their leader.

He said that even when the CM went to oversee relief operations in her constituency in RK Nagar, she did not roll down the windows of her car.
