In an application filed before the special bench, he said that he should be allowed “to intervene as party respondent” so that he could assist the Special Public Prosecutor in the case against Jayalalithaa, reported PTI. He had also submitted that his intervention before the appropriate courts at all stages of the trial was to ensure that justice was not derailed by a few "powerful persons". The senior leader has  played a role in the prosecution regarding this case since 2003 when the Supreme Court accepted his request to move the case out of the state, reported Times of India.  Read As Karnataka HC appoints Justice Kumaraswamy to hear Jayalalithaa DA appeal, prayers resume Tweet Follow @thenewsminute
