The rift within the State Congress party is apparent as a section of Congress leaders who are unhappy have reportedly written to Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi urging party leaders at the Centre to carry out the much awaited cabinet reshuffle, reported Deccan Chronicle. Over the last few days, even Chief Minister Siddharamiah had hinted at a reshuffle "soon", although it wasn't clear if it would be before or after the upcoming Gram Panchayat elections. “It is clear that many leaders including the majority of District Congress Committee presidents are unhappy over the way in which they are being treated by a section of ministers as well as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself on several occasions," a senior party leader was quoted by the paper. However, the paper reports that it is unlikely that the demand of the disgruntled leaders would be met with. They also want the party high command to observe the "performance of ministers on various counts which apparently includes cross checking the ministers’ travel diary against their oral claims on visits to their respective districts", the report said.
