Sivakarthikeyan is currently busy with the upcoming film Hero, which is being directed by PS Mithran. It was recently revealed that Bollywood actor Abhay Deol will be playing the baddie in this film.

On choosing the actor for the role of the villain, director Mithran said in an interview to Tamil daily Dinamalar that he wanted someone with a smiling face but who would be able to instil terror in the minds of the audiences when his true identity is revealed. The director pointed out that Abhay Deol has been able to pull off such roles successfully in the past and was apt for this particular character he had etched out.

Paired opposite Sivakarthikeyan in the film will be two heroines, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Ivana, while Arjun, Vivek and Robo Shankar have been roped in to play pivotal roles. RD Raja and KJR Studios are bankrolling this venture. George C Williams and Ruben are in charge of the film’s cinematography and editing respectively.

Apart from Hero, Sivakarthikeyan also has a film with director Pandiraj that is progressing simultaneously. The film is being bankrolled by Kalanidhi Maran’s Sun Pictures. Reportedly, Aishwarya Rajesh is playing the hero’s sister in the film. While she has acted as the main female lead in several films, it is quite surprising that she agreed to take up a sister role. Explaining what made her take up the role when she is a well-known heroine in the Tamil film industry, Aishwarya Rajesh said that she was impressed with how director Pandiraj had etched out the role. The actor has said that she has always been open to roles that gave her scope to exhibit her acting skills and this is one such role. Apparently, Anu Emmanuel plays Sivakarthikeyan’s love interest in the film.
