Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar is all set to remake Vijay and Rashmika’s Telugu film, Dear Comrade, which hit the screens today. Appreciating Vijay’s and Rashmika’s performances in the movie, Karan Johar wrote in the post that he had the pleasure to be the first person to watch the movie. “What a powerful and intense love story. The film is exceptionally moving and leaves you with an important and relevant message,” the director wrote.

Initially, it was speculated Vijay would be making his Bollywood debut with the remake which was denied by the actor. And it was also said that Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar will feature in the remake.

Dismissing all the rumours, Karan Johar took to his Twitter handle to clarify that No lead actors have been considered or approached for the film. He wrote, '”All the best and big success to the team of #DearComradeOnJuly26th! Also a CLARIFICATION! No lead actors have been considered or approached for the film as yet! The planning for this lovely film is underway!"

Dear Comrade is being produced by Y. Naveen, Y. Ravi Shankar and C. V. Mohan under the banner Mythri Movie Makers.

Vijay Deverakonda will be playing a student leader with a communist background in this flick while Rashmika Mandanna will be seen as a cricketer playing for Telangana state. Sources in the know say that Rashmika has worked hard to get into the skin of the character by learning the nuances of cricket. She underwent special training hard at the cricket club in Hyderabad before the shoot began.
