Director Hemanth M Rao is leaving no stone unturned to get his upcoming movie Kavalu Daari the authentic 1970s look. Set in that era, it is an investigative noir film that is about a couple who were involved in a crime, the repercussions of which are felt even today.

Speaking about it, Hemanth M Rao has been quoted by the Times of India as stating, “Mr and Mrs Naidu's story is set in the 70s. Mr Naidu works for the government. They are involved in a crime where the repercussions are felt to this date. This is the case that is being investigated by the characters essayed by Rishi and Ananth (Nag) sir. We wanted to create an authentic look and flavour of that era, for which we scoured through many of the team's family albums to understand the dressing and fashion styles.

Our stylists Indira and Vinaya got the styling to the T, while Sidhartha even put on weight to look his part.”
Kavalu Daari is being producing by the Kannada Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar and wife Ashwini Rajkumar under the banners PRK Productions and Hombale Films.

The film stars veteran actor Anant Nag, Rishi, Suman Ranganathan, Achyuth Kumar, Roshni Prakash, Siddharth Maadhyamika and Siri Ravikumar in pivotal roles. While Anant Nag will be seen as a retired police inspector, Rishi plays a sub-inspector.

Charan Raj is setting the tunes for the songs and background score as well with Advaitha Gurumurthy cranking the camera. Kavalu Daari is set for release on May 25 next year, and the team is working towards this deadline.

According to the film’s director, over 50 percent of the shooting has been completed and the next schedule will resume in January.
