Aruvi, which hit the silver screens last year, was a critical success and one of the biggest hits of the year. Directed by debutant Arun Prabhu Purushotham, the film had Aditi Balan, Anjali Varadhan and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy in the lead roles. This social-political drama was produced by SR Prabhu and SR Prakashbabu under the banner Dream Warrior Pictures on a budget of Rs 1 Crore and it went on to collect Rs 35 Crores at the box office.

The director, no doubt, shot to limelight with his debut flick and expectations were rife on his next project. Well, here is the news about it. The official puja of Arun Prabhu’s next took place recently. The film will be bankrolled by RD Raja under his banner 24 AM Studios. More details about the project are expected to be out soon.

On getting the film on the floors, RD Raja, its producer had tweeted: “In the journey of Making gud content n wholesome entertainment,Today wit all ur blessings n support,We have signed wit the passionate n dedicated film maker ‘ARUVI’ fame @thambiprabu89 at our Mentor Fr.RajaNayagam’s #Noshram , Paliankudi, Lower Camp,Kumily@24AMSTUDIOS.”

Actor Siva Karthikeyan, who is director Arun Prabhu's cousin went on to tweet: Vazhthukkal my dear @thambiprabu89 and @RDRajaofficial anna I’m sure arun gonna give one more sensational film.. waiting eagerly.”

RD Raja, a successful producer in Kollywood, had produced two films so far and both the films had Siva Karthikeyan in the lead role. The films produced under his banner are Remo and Velaikkaran. He is currently bankrolling another Siva Karthikeyan starrer Seema Raja, which is being directed by Ponram. The film has Samantha playing the female lead and is scheduled for release for Vinayagar Chathurthi on September 13 this year.
