Kannada star Dhruva Sarja quashed rumours about his upcoming film Pogaru being stalled. Coming out with an explanation, the actor said that the delay was because he had to shed 30 kilos of weight for the first schedule.
While this schedule was completed in April, Dhruva said the Pogaru team is now waiting for him to regain the lost weight so that the next schedule can begin. The star said that it is not easy to shed and gain weight in a jiffy as he had to put in a lot of effort and it would take some time.
The makers of Pogaru are well aware of the challenges the actor has to overcome and are waiting for him to get back to his normal shape. It may be mentioned here that the star will be appearing in a schoolboy get-up in the film and he had to shed weight to look like a school kid.
Touted to be a complete mass entertainer, the film is directed by Nanda Kishore and will feature Shanvi Srivastava and Rashmika Mandanna as the women leads. Veteran Tollywood actor Jagapathy Babu has been roped in to play the baddie in this flick. The technical crew of Pogaru will comprise Arjun Janya scoring music while the camera will be handled by Vaidhi. The film is scheduled to release later this year.
Dhruva hails from a well-known Sandalwood family – his uncle is Action King Arjun and his grandfather is the veteran Shakthi Prasad. Dhruva made his acting debut in 2012 with Addhuri. The film won him several Best Debutant Awards and he went on to star in Bahaddur after that. His last outing was Bharjari, which was a huge hit. The young star is now looking forward to top it up with the success of Pogaru.
