Dhruv Vikram’s ‘Adithya Varma’ to hit the screens on Nov 8

The film is the Tamil remake of Telugu cult hit ‘Arjun Reddy’ which was recently remade as ‘Kabir Singh’ in Hindi.

Adithya Varma, the Tamil remake of Arjun Reddy, will finally release on November 8th, its makers announced on Sunday on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The makers released a new poster to announce the release date. The film marks the acting debut of Dhruv Vikram, son of Chiyaan Vikram. The remake was originally announced and even shot with director Bala. The project was titled Varmaa; however, it was later scrapped after the makers were unhappy with the output.

In a statement, Bala had revealed that it was his decision to leave the project and denied allegations made by the producers. “I am forced to release this explanation, due to the false statement from the producer of Varmaa. In order to safeguard creative freedom, it was my own decision to relieve myself from the project. Considering Dhruv Vikram’s future, I would like to end this here,” he said.  

E4 Entertainment, producers of popular Malayalam films such as Ezra and Godha are the makers of the film, shot the film from scratch with debut director Girisayya, who had assisted filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga on Arjun Reddy

Ravi K Chandran is cranking the camera and Radhan, who composed the tunes, originally for Arjun Reddy and Bala's version has been retained as the music director for this version of remake too. And it also stars October fame Banita Sandhu and Priya Anand in crucial roles. The project marks Banita’s Tamil debut. According to the industry grapevine, Vikram has been closely following Dhruv on the sets during the course of the shoot. He’d also intervene and make suggestions wherever necessary. The film was planned to be released on multiple occasions over the course of tha last two months. However, it got postponed for reasons unknown.
