Dhanush's political thriller Kodi will have a grand release on Diwali along with Karthi’s Kaashmora.
Directed by R. S. Durai Senthilkumar, 'Kodi' was given a U certificate by the Censor Board of Film Certification on Friday.
Dhanush plays a dual role in the film – one will be a professor named Anbu and the other is a politician named Kodi. Dhanush will be seen with a long beard in the politician’s character and will be clean shaved in the professor’s role. Trisha plays the role of a baddie for the first time and Premam fame Anupama Paremeswaran also plays the lead in the movie.
According to sources from the film's camp, the crux of the movie is centered on the construction of a nuclear power plant in a village and this will resonate with the struggle against the Kudankulam nuclear power plant in Tamil Nadu.
The movie has musical score by Santhosh Narayanan and the songs are already topping the charts. The movie is being produced under the banner of Grass Root Film Company.
