The reputation of Dhanush-Vetrimaaran combo is very high and the duo has been a winner always. Dhanush and Vetrimaaran have teamed up for the fourth time in upcoming Tamil thriller Asuran – which is based on Tamil novel, Vekkai, and is said to be a revenge drama that traces the fight of an oppressed community against those oppressing them. The latest update is that the makers have officially announced the release date of the film. The film is all set to get a worldwide release on October 4.

Also, Asuran will mark the debut of the Malayalam actor Manju Warrier in Tamil. She will be seen in a pivotal role in the film. Besides, Manju Warrier, the star cast of this film also includes veteran actor Pasupathi, director Balaji Sakthivel, Prakash Raj, Yogi Babu, Guru Somasundaram, actor Karunas’s son Ken Karunas. Dhanush and Pasupathi had shared the screen space in Sullan in the year 2004 and they are teaming up for a movie after 15 years now.
Produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu under his production banner V Creations, who had recently bankrolled VIP 2. GV Prakash Kumar scored the music for the film, rejoining back his association with director Vetrimaaran. The technical crew of Asuran includes Velraj for cinematography and Vivek Harshan for editing.
Dhanush’s last outing with Vetrimaaran was the critically-acclaimed Vada Chennai, which released last year. The second part in the franchise is slated for release next year.
Last seen in the Hollywood film, The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir which was also dubbed in Tamil, Dhanush has a slew of films in the making. He resumed shooting for Durai Senthil Kumar's project. The title and the first look of the film were revealed recently by the makers. Titled Pattasu, the film is scheduled to hit the screens this Deepavali.
Interestingly, in both Asuran and Pattasu Dhanush will be seen in dual avatar. In Pattasu, the father portion featuring Dhanush will have actress Sneha as his pair and Mehreen Pirzada has been signed as Dhanush’s pair for the son’s role.
