Actor-filmmaker Dhanush has proved his mettle as a singer with popular hits such as 'Why This Kolaveri' and 'Amma Amma'. If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, he is set to sing in his brother’s direction for Suriya starrer NGK, which is gearing up for Diwali release.

Rumours have been making the rounds that Dhanush has been approached for a song in the film and he’s believed to have already given his nod. However, neither the makers nor Dhanush has officially clarified these reports. Dhanush has already sung in Selvaraghavan’s direction in Mayakkam Enna.

NGK marks the first-time collaboration between Suriya and Selvaraghavan. In March this year, the makers unveiled the title with the first look poster. Featured in the form of wall graffiti, Suriya resembled widely popular leader and revolutionist Che Guevara.

The industry grapevine is that the film could be a political drama and Suriya may play a leader. When the project was announced last year, it was confirmed as a Diwali release. However, several rumours over the last few months and the recent Kollywood strike hinted that the film could miss the festival release date.

In June, a day after AR Murugadoss confirmed that Vijay’s Thalapathy 62 will release for this Diwali, Selvaraghavan took to Twitter to reconfirm that NGK will also be a Diwali release. He wrote: “Lights on for a long schedule from today. Lights on for Diwali.”

The film, which was officially launched in February 2018, also stars Rakul Preet Singh and Sai Pallavi as the leading ladies. Poduced by Dream Warrior Pictures, the team has already wrapped up the first schedule of shooting.

Recently, on a lavish budget of over Rs 3 crore, the makers recreated a set of Ambasamudram town. Despite rumours doing the rounds that the film could be a revived version of Selvaraghavan’s Kaan, which was launched in 2016 and dropped, sources close to the makers have rubbished the reports and clarified that the team is working on a fresh subject.
