The first-look poster of Dhanush’s next film Pattas was released on Sunday to coincide with his birthday. The poster shows a funky looking Dhanush dressed in colourful jacket and T-shirt, wearing bright yellow shades and striking a pose. The film’s title looks like graffiti painted upon a wall. The actor resembles one of his characters from the 2015 film Anegan, in which he played a game developer.

Interestingly, the ‘Ilaiya Super Star’ tag from the Saturday’s announcement is missing from this poster. Written and directed by RS Senthil Kumar, Pattas is being produced and presented by Sathya Jyothi Films.

Cinematographer Om Prakash will crank the camera and this will be his fourth outing with Dhanush after Maari, Anegan and Maari 2. The music will be taken care of by Vivek-Mervin duo.

Pattas will feature Dhanush in dual roles – father and son. The portion featuring Dhanush as the father will have actor Sneha as his partner, and Mehreen Pirzada has been signed as Dhanush’s partner for the son’s role.

Meanwhile, Vetrimaran and Dhanush have wrapped up shooting Asuran, a revenge thriller based on Tamil novel Vekkai. The actor plays a dual role in this film as well. He also has the long delayed Enai Nokki Payum Thotta with Gautham Menon up for release soon.

The actor also has two other projects lined up, one with director Mari Selvaraj who made Pariyerum Perumal last year, another with director Ram Kumar who thrilled audiences with Raatsasan last year. In addition to all this, he also has Vada Chennai 2 with Vetrimaaran. Dhanush was last seen in the Hollywood film, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, which hit the screens last month.

Pattas gearing up for Deepavali 2019 means the film will clash with Vijay’s Bigil at the box-ffice.
