Dhanush and Sun Pictures to team up for the fourth timeDigital Native

Popular film production house Sun Pictures is all set to bankroll actor Dhanush’s next film. The announcement was made by Sun Pictures on Sunday evening on its official Twitter handle.

Tentatively titled D44, the movie will be the fourth collaboration between Sun Pictures and Dhanush. The previous three outings of the team were Padikathavan, Mappillai and the National award winning movie Aadukalam. Apart from the tentative title, no other details are known about the project yet.

Actor Dhanush, meanwhile, has a slew of films in his lineup. He is currently shooting for Karthik Subbaraj’s untitled film. After wrapping up the first schedule that went on the floors in London earlier this year and was wrapped up in 60 days, the actor has resumed shooting for the film.  The current schedule will be shot in many locations across India and will go on until December 24. The film will be wrapped up after Pongal.

Believed to be an action thriller with gangster elements, the film features Aishwarya Lekshmi as the leading lady. Also starring Kalaiyarasan and Joju George, the film will also feature Hollywood actor James Cosmo in a prominent role. The Hollywood actor is well-known for starring in films like Braveheart, Troy, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, and TV series Game of Thrones.

Dhanush is also expected to commence shooting for his next film directed by Pariyerum Perumal fame Mari Selvaraj. The film is scheduled to go on the floors from December and will be bankrolled by Kalaipuli S Thanu under the banner of V Creations. The actor also awaits the release of Pattasu, directed by RS Durai Senthil Kumar which is slated to hit the screens on January 26, 2020. Pattasu is produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan under the banner Sathya Jyothi Films.

Meanwhile, Sun Pictures will be commencing the shooting of Superstar Rajinikanth's next film directed by Siva. The film was officially launched in a ceremony recently which was attended by  Rajinikanth. The film will also see actors Meena and Khushbu, both teaming up with the Superstar after decades. Reports suggest that Meena is likely to be Rajinikanth’s wife in the movie, while Khushbu will be seen as an antagonist. The film will also have Prakash Raj and Keerthy Suresh in key roles in the movie.
