Director Venky Kudumula had announced a few days ago that his next film, titled Beeshma, would feature Nithin and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles. The film will be bankrolled by Naga Vamsi and is likely to go on the floors next month and the prep work has reportedly begun already. The director is in the process of roping in the star cast and crew for the project and has recently signed up ace music composer Devi Sri Prasad to compose the tunes for his upcoming film.

Devi Sri Prasad is one of the top-ranking music composers in Tollywood and takes up only select projects. Sources say he was impressed with Venky Kudumula’s Beeshma script and agreed to hop on board the project. The music director is also currently working on the upcoming Ram Charan Teja starrer, which has not been titled yet.

Venky Kudumula’s last release was Chalo, which made it to the silver screens early this year. The film starred Naga Shaurya and Rashmika Mandanna as the lead pair. Incidentally, it was Rashmika’s debut film in the Telugu film industry and had won her accolades for her performance. Chalo was made on a budget of Rs 3 crore and went on to gross about Rs 24 crore at the box office, which speaks of its success.

With Chalo, Rashmika made a strong entry in Tollywood and topped it up with another hit film, Geetha Govindam, which stars Vijay Deverakonda as her lead pair. She has the multi-starrer Devadas, featuring Nagarjuna and Nani as heroes, lined up for release on September 27 and there is much expectation that she would score a hat trick with it. Besides these films, she also has Dear Comrade, again with Vijay Deverakonda, slotted for release. Looks like Rashmika is fast turning out to be the number one heroine in Tollywood.
