Amidst the huge outcry by opposition parties against BS Yeddyurappa being sworn-in as the Karnataka Chief Minister in Bengaluru on Thursday, Telugu actor and politician Pawan Kalyan has waded into the issue saying that democratic procedures were being watered down since decades.

While interacting with media persons, Pawan said, "I knew it one month back. A few 'officials' told me that whoever got any number of seats, the BJP has decided to form the government. Even if BJP got 90 seats and JD(S) got 40, BJP will form the government."

He further said, "They have their own policies, you all know, no need to talk about it."

While stating that no one is in a position to question the BJP, he said, "If we ask, is it right or wrong, no one is in a position to question because everyone has done mistakes."

Pawan said that not just BJP but everyone was indulging in this. “Even the TDP (Telugu Desam Party) has bought YSRCP MLAs, horse-trading is not new. I am one among those who seeks a change in the system."

Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala has given 15 days to BS Yeddyurappa to seek a vote of confidence and prove his majority on the floor of the House.

Pawan is currently in the midst of arrangements to take out a yatra across the state, as part of his efforts to reach out to the public.

When reporters asked how he foresees the 2019 general elections in Andhra Pradesh, Pawan said, "I am not sure about who will come, but it would be a triangular contest.”

Pawan Kalyan had teamed up with Chandrababu Naidu and BJP during 2014 general elections. Following the recent political fallout which saw the ruling TDP parting from BJP-led NDA, Pawan has decided to go solo. He has accused Naidu of mis-governance, corruption and failing to fulfil the expectations of people of the state.
