Reports about Darshan’s 55th film are out and they are enough to pique one’s interest. The star will be collaborating with Tarak director Prakash Jayaraman again. Apparently, the new film, similar to Tarak, will also be a family entertainer and the director is busy with the groundwork. Both Darshan and Prakash Jayaraman share a very good rapport. When Tarak was wrapped up, Darshan had praised the director for wrapping up the project in 64 days and pointed out that he was the epitome of time management.

Darshan is currently awaiting the release of his 50th film Kurukshetra, a high budget historical that features him as Duryodhana. Directed by Naganna, the film is produced by Muni Ratna under his banner KCN Movies. One of the most expensive films to ever be made in the Kannada film industry, the historical has a bevy of stars in the cast including Ambareesh, Arjun Sarja, V Ravichandran, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Sneha, Hari Priya, Meghana Raj and P Ravi Shankar.

The star’s Yajamana is nearing completion, with Darshan beginning the dubbing and the film being in the post-production mode. While he plays the lead role in the film, it has Rashmika Mandanna playing the woman lead along with Tanya Hope as the second heroine. Dhananjay, Thakur Anoop Singh and Devaraj will be seen playing significant roles in this flick. Bankrolled by Shylaja Nag and B Suresha, the film is being directed by Pon Kumaran.

Darshan will now be shifting his focus to Odeya, which is believed to be the remake of the hit Tamil film Veeram that had Ajith in the lead role. The star also has a project with director Tharun Sudhir that will be bankrolled by Rockline Venkatesh.

With a slew of projects in his kitty, looks like Darshan has a busy year to look forward to.
