It has been well-publicised that Darshan will be playing a guest role in the upcoming film Amar, which will mark Ambareesh and Sumalatha’s son Abhishek’s debut as hero. The film is directed by Nagashekar. While speculations were rife on what role the Challenging Star will be playing in the film, its director has recently revealed that Darshan will be seen as a millionaire. Sources say Darshan’s character in Amar is crucial and will bring about the turning point in the story.

Scenes involving Darshan were shot for a period of three days, including the Joruu Paattu song sequence. The scenes were shot in various locations in and around Bengaluru. Darshan will be seen shaking a leg with the hero for the Kodava song in the film. The Joruu Paattu song has been sung by Jassie Gift, with lyrics penned by Kiran Kaverappa and music by Arjun Janya. The shooting of Amar has been wrapped up and it has been given a UA certificate. The film is gearing up for release on May 31 and the promos are happening full swing.

The film has Tanya Hope playing the lead opposite Abhishek. A major portion of the film has been shot in Switzerland, we hear. Both the lead actors in the film appear to be motorsport enthusiasts and the crux of the story will revolve around this. It may be recalled here that they underwent training in motorsports before the shooting began to fit into the character they play.

Speaking about his role in the film, Abhishek had said in an interview much earlier, “I am passionate about motorsports in general. Bike racing is new and I am excited about this. I have been meeting experts and rallyists and understanding what it is to be on the track. I’m working on my body language and understanding.”

Bankrolled under the Sandesh Productions banner, the technical crew also comprises Satya Hegde to crank the camera and Sania Sardhariya to design the costumes.
