Darshan to play the role of Bhagat Singh in Inspector Vikram

It was revealed a few weeks ago that the Sandalwood star Darshan will be making a cameo appearance in Inspector Vikram, which has Prajwal Devaraj playing the lead role. And now we hear from sources in the know that Darshan plays the role of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in the movie.

The star joined the sets earlier this month and shot for his portions for a week. He wrapped up the shooting of his portions last weekend.

Prajwal Devaraj and Bhavana play the lead pair in this flick which has Ramesh Aravind as the villain. The technical crew of the film comprises Anoop Seelin for music, Naveen Kumar for cinematography and Sathish and Sreenivas for art direction.

Darshan, meanwhile, is waiting for the release of his 50th film, Kurukshetra. The star plays Duryodhana in this historical based on the epic Mahabharata and the story is told from his perspective. One of the most expensive films to ever be made in the Kannada film industry, Kurukshetra is being bankrolled by Muniratna under his banner KCN Movies.

Kurukshetra has a bevy of stars in the cast including Ambareesh, Arjun Sarja, V Ravichandran, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Sneha, Hariprriya, Meghana Raj and P Ravishankar. The shooting of this film is over and it is currently in the post-production mode. Darshan has completed dubbing for the film as well but there is still no clarity about its release date.

The star has moved on to his next film titled Yajamana. Darshan plays the lead role in the film while Rashmika Mandanna plays the lead opposite him along with Tanya Hope as the second heroine. Bankrolled by Shylaja Nag and B Suresha, the former confirmed that the team finalised the title Yajamana after considering a couple of other titles and clarified that Darshan’s Yajamana has nothing to do with the Vishnuvardhan starrer of the same name that was released more than a decade and a half ago.
