Superstar Rajinikanth is currently shooting for his next with director AR Murugadoss, which has been titled Darbar. It is an interesting combination to watch out for as the director and actor are joining hands for the first time. The film, which stars Nayanthara as the leading lady, marks Rajinikanth’s return to playing a cop after two decades. The film was officially launched earlier this month and the shooting commenced in Mumbai.

Recently, a few stills from the Darbar shooting spot were leaked online creating a buzz. Despite the best efforts of the team, the leaks have been happening at regular intervals thwarting the surprise factor and irking the filmmakers. Some pics of Rajinikanth’s look from the film have surfaced online creating a furore among its makers and fans. One picture features Rajinikanth, Nivetha Thomas and comedian Yogi Babu from a scene, while in another leaked picture Rajinikanth is seen playing cricket alongside Nayanthara and Yogi Babu.

Sources told TNM that the images are getting leaked as the shooting is happening in a college in the city, which has more than 10,000 students, and so it was really difficult to control the crowd. Following the leaks, the security on the sets was beefed up even more.

Recently, it was revealed that actor Prateik Babbar was signed to play the antagonist in the film. Reports say Prateik won’t play the main antagonist but will be seen as the son of the primary villain.

Popular lensman Santosh Sivan has been roped in for cinematography. The film will mark Sivan’s reunion with Rajinikanth after Mani Ratnam’s Thalapathi which released in 1991. Anirudh Ravichander has been signed to compose music with Vivek penning the lyrics. This will be Anirudh’s second successive film with Rajinikanth after Petta. Leading stunt director duo Ram and Lakshman are onboard to choreograph the action sections and A Sreekar Prasad to do the editing.
