Wife of late IAS officer DK Ravi who had died under mysterious circumstances in Bengaluru , H Kusuma, has dashed off a letter to Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce (KFCC) asking officials to prohibit producers and directors from making any movie based on his life.A day later, Union Minister of for Law and Justice Sadananda Gowda’s son Karthik Gowda has also written a letter to the President of the KFCC asking him to ensure that no movie is directed or produced involving him and his family. Karthik Gowda is facing a rape and cheating case filed agianst him by an actor who has insisted that he had cheated her, in spite of marrying her.An interesting aspect about the two letters is that, both Kusuma and Karthik have sought action against the same movie – ‘Akshate,’ while also asking KFCC to stop all such movies.Kusuma's letter dated April 24 is addressed to Secretary of the KFCC Ba Ma Harish urging him to ensure that name of the officer is not used for making profit. She has even threatened to take legal action against anyone who decided to go ahead with the movie.Kusuma’s letter“As the wife of D K Ravi, I request you to put a stay to ensure no director or producer makes a movie based on the life of his life or uses his name to make profits.”“Based on recent media reports, I have gather information that a movie by the name ‘Akshate’ has adopted the life story of my husband. I would also like to inform that a legal action would be initiated against anyone who fails to comply with our wishes.”Karthik’s letter“Based on newspaper reports, it has come to my notice that a movie by the name ‘Akshate’ starring actress Mythriya is being made. It has also reported that the storyline of the movie is based on my life. Reports also say that the name of the actor is the same as mine and the movie depicts a love story between them.”“The actor has already indulged in character assassination of me and my family and has made false allegations. She has even filed a police complaint, the investigation of which is in its final stages. A case regarding this is also pending in the court.”“I have observed through media reports that this movie is being made damage the image and bring disrepute to me and my family.”“My family and I object to making a movie based on our lives or in relation to us; or giving it any kind of publicity. I also urge you to prohibit the production, direction or association of actors/ actresses with such a film and that it does not get publicity.”“My family and I have not consented to the production of this movie. Hence, I request you to intervene and take necessary action.”
