On Sunday, plastic bags containing petrol and cotton were found in a Munnani functionary’s house in Vellore. Following this, the functionaries began protesting on the Chennai-Bengaluru national highway claiming that the petrol bombs were targeted at them.

At 3am, Munnani functionary K Mahesh and his family were sleeping inside their house when they heard a noise. When Mahesh came out of the bedroom, he saw plastic packets with cotton and thread. The functionary’s house is located at Brahmanar Street in Sathuvachari.

The Hindu Munnani functionaries began protesting and asked the police to find the perpetrators and arrest them. They also began asking the shopkeepers to shut their shops, which led to a minor scuffle with the police, as reported by The New Indian Express.

Another petrol-filled packet was found from a bus, owned by the Hindu Munnani district president TKT Sreenivasan in Sankaranpalayam near Bagayam.
