Dwayne Bravo, one of the most popular international cricketers today, will soon be seen in an awareness campaign film. The West Indies player is also a part of the Chennai Super Kings team, which plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has been signed up to star in a film to promote social awareness regarding women’s hygiene.

On the making the film with Bravo, the film’s producers told Deccan Chronicle, “We are delighted to share the news of signing up with celebrated cricketer, to make a social awareness film. We are planning to shoot the film in the picturesque locales of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and in Trinidad and Tobago, West Indies (sic).”

The film is bankrolled jointly by TG Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla with Natraj Pillai as the executive producer. Vivek Kuchibhotla said, “When we met him last year in Chennai, he was keen to do something on social awareness. So we pitched the idea of the film; Bravo was excited and agreed to do it.” He added, “We want this film to have a global appeal. Since Bravo is known globally we thought he can take the film to a global level.”

The film, which will have a one-hour run time, will be directed by national award winning documentary filmmaker Aarti Shrivastava. It will be made in English and then dubbed in other languages.

Interestingly, Bravo featured in a song in the recent Tamil film Chithiram Pesuthadi 2. In an interview to The Hindu published in May, Bravo opened up about his acting plans. He said, “That’s a work in progress. I had my first opportunity in CP2, and that song still plays in my head at times. If another opportunity presents itself, I will grab it with both hands.”

Showing a keen interest in Tamil films, Bravo also said that he would like to meet Superstar Rajinikanth someday.
