The News Minute | December 9, 2014 | 8:20 am ISTA man trying to save his wife died after his attempt went futile even as he embraced her after she immolated herself at their residence in Chennai on Sunday.The issue began when the husband, Dhanasekaran, aged 40 , a truck driver , returned home drunk , reported Deccan Chronicle.According to the report, the woman, Mahalakshmi doused herself in kerosene after which husband too is said to have doused himself, while their daughter watched on.The couple had two children, a boy and a girl.When the woman lit herself, the man embraced her in the hope to save her after efforts to pour water and douse the fire went useless, said the report. The couple was rushed to the nearby hospital. However, both succumbed to their injuries.
