The Shane Nigam starrer Ishq had hit the silver screens and is doing well at the box office. The film has been receiving praise not only from the movie buffs but from the film fraternity as well. The latest to shower praises on Ishq is actor Sunny Wayne. He had posted on his social media page: “Enjoyed watching #Ishq. Congrats to each and every one who associated with such a superb film. And dear shine Tom chackoo u were fantastic as Alwyn!”
Welding the megaphone for Ishq was debutant director Anuraj Manohar and the film was scripted by Ratheesh Ravi. Shane Nigam and Ann Sheetal played the lead roles in it with Shine Tom Chacko, Jaffer Idukki and Leona Lishoy in pivotal roles. Ishq was bankrolled by Mukesh R Mehta, AV Anoop and CV Sarathy under the banner of E4 Entertainment.
The technical crew of Ishq included Jakes Bejoy for composing the songs and background score, Ansarsha for cinematography and Kiran Das for editing.
In an interview to Firstpost, Shane Nigam had said about the film, “The story is about a possessive guy and his relationship with his girl. It is not a film entirely seeped in romance; the core theme is based on the moral policing going on in our society. I play Sachi, an IT professional madly in love with a girl from the same background. It’s a story of love, ego, failure and finally redemption. Let’s put it this way, the film is not a typical love story, the story and treatment are different.”
Interestingly, the role was first offered to Fahadh Faasil, but he could not take it up and it went to Shane Nigam.
