The News Minute | February 25, 2015 | 10.16 am ISTIn a curious state of affairs in Karnataka, the Hubballi-Dharwad Police Commissioner has issued shoot-on-sight orders, under a section of the Indian Penal Code.According to a report in The Hindu, Commissioner Ravindra Prasad had issued shoot-at-sight” orders to his personnel to tackle the rising instances of dacoity being reported in Hubballi and Dharwad cities. The curiosity is that the order has been issued under Section 100 of the IPC, which relates to the use of force in self-defence.
