The Kannada television buffs are in for a special treat with the private satellite channel Colors coming up with two big shows that will be hosted by two biggest film stars in the Kannada film industry – Puneeth Rajkumar and Kiccha Sudeep. Reports say that Puneeth will be hosting a family-based game show. The 40-episode game show is spread across 20 weeks and will be telecast during the weekends. The promos of this show which are being aired by the channel regularly feature the song Baana Darilayli Knada Soorya Chandra which is a film that had Puneeth as a child artiste. Touted to be a complete family show, it is aimed to capture the attention of all the three generations in the family.
It may be noted that this is not the first time Puneeth is hosting a television show as his Kannadada Kotiyadipati was a big hit when it was aired four years ago. This show was the Kannada version of Kaun Banega Crorepati that Amitabh Bachchan has hosted for several seasons successfully.
And Colors has another interesting show coming up as well. Kiccha Sudeep, who has been successfully hosting the Bigg Boss Kannada, a reality show, for four seasons consecutively, will be hosting the fifth season as well.
With two major shows hosted by the leading stars in Sandalwood, the TRPs of the channel are sure to go up, predict industry experts.
Meanwhile, Sudeep is busy with The Villain in which he is sharing the screen space with Puneeth’s elder brother and the Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar. Puneeth Rajkumar is working on the Kannada film Anjani Putra which is slated to hit the silver screens later this year.
