Former Karnataka minister KJ George accused in DySP Ganapathy suicide case, was given a clean chit by the Criminal Investigation Department on Saturday.

Along with George two police officials AM Prasad and Pranob Mohanty were also cleared of charges, reported Kannada news channel Suvarna.

In an interview that Ganapathy had given to a local television channel in Madikeri, hours before he committed suicide on June 7, the DySP had accused George, and two officers of harassing him. George was the main accused in the case which was filed after much political pressure.

CID reportedly submitted the report to the Madikeri court on Saturday morning.

Director General of Police CID, Kishore Chandra said,"There is no clear evidence against any of the three accused in the Ganapathy suicide case and the report was submitted this morning."

Ganapathy’s family has also moved the Karnataka High Court and asked for a CBI probe in to the case. The case would be heard next week.
