On Wednesday, popular writer and attention-seeker Chetan Bhagat had an unusual announcement to make. No, it wasn’t that he was going to get off writing (although for a while we were joyous that he was, and then clarified he will continue writing), but that he was going to launch a new electric car in India.
He told The Quint that he was emulating Elon Musk of Tesla. “Tesla already has an electric car out there which is successful, and all auto manufacturers are working on it as well. I am inspired by Elon Musk, but anyone can think along these lines. Technology like this is quickly adopted.”
He also threw some buzz words at The Quint, as is required of any budding entrepreneur, “Whether it is to burn less fossil fuels or to reduce urban pollution, I think we should really encourage electric cars. It can revolutionise India. Electric cars would require charging stations instead of fuel pumps.”
How is any of this not some fine fodder for the hungry trolls on Twitter?
Twitter trolls and other users online responded to his announcement with dark humour and hilarious jokes.
Here are some of the funniest tweets.
