Naga Chaitanya and Samantha first paired up on screen for the Gautham Menon directorial Ye Maaya Chesave, a romantic entertainer. They then went on to star together in a couple of movies, eventually getting married last year.

Ever since then, there have been a lot of expectations among their fans to see the real life couple back on the silver screens romancing.

Well, this wish is bound to come true soon with Chai and Sam inking a deal to play the lead pair in the Shiva Nirvana directorial, which will go on the floors soon. The director is known for the hit movie Ninnu Kori. Having started out as an assistant director, he directed a few short films before making his first venture Ninnu Kori. The film had Nani, Nivetha Thomas and Aadhi Pinisetty in the star cast and its box office collection was approximately Rs 46 crore.

The upcoming film with Naga Chaitanya and Samantha will be bankrolled by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi under the banner Shine Screens. About his film, the director told First Post, “After Ninnu Kori, I wanted to take a gap and do films in different genres. But I struck upon an exciting idea and felt if I turn it into a story then it’d suit Chaitanya. So I went and pitched the idea, and Chaitanya really liked it. I also suggested that it’d be nice to have Samantha be part of this story, and he asked me to go and pitch the story to her. She got really excited after she heard the story.”

It may be mentioned here that Naga Chaitanya is currently busy with Savyasachi, directed by Chandoo Mondenti, and Sailaja Reddy Alludu, which is a Maruti Dasari directorial. According to sources, Chai will be completing his current assignments on hand and moving over to the Shiva Nirvana project.
