When director Maruti Dasari announced his project with Naga Chaitanya in the lead, there were reports that Samantha may be roped in as the heroine. However, the director eventually opted for Anu Emmanuel. Fans who wanted the see the real life couple romance on screen in his Sailaja Reddy Alludu were left disappointed.

But it now looks like the cute couple may be sharing screen space after all. Reports emerging from the Telugu film industry indicate that director Shiva Nirvana of Ninnu Kori fame is gearing up to direct the couple. Sources say that the director impressed Naga Chaitanya with the script and is confident that Samantha would also agree to come onboard the project.

Shiva Nirvana made his directorial debut with Ninnu Kori last year and the film was a hit garnering around Rs 46 crore at the box office. Starring Nani and Nivetha Thomas in the lead roles, it had Aadhi Pinisetty playing a crucial role in it as well. DVV Dhanayya had bankrolled the project under his banner DVV Entertainments.

Naga Chaitanya made his debut as hero in 2009 with the Vasu Varma directorial Josh. His next film was Ye Maaya Cheasave with Gautham Menon, in which he was paired opposite Samantha. The couple eventually got married last year after sharing screen space in a few other movies such as Autonagar Surya, Thrayam and Manam.

Ever since they got married, there have been huge expectations among movie buffs to see them back together on the silver screens. Will this wish come true? Well, for that we need to wait for an official announcement from Shiva Nirvana.

Meanwhile, Samantha is expecting the release of the Ram Charan starrer Rangasthalam which is scheduled to hit theatres on March 30. She also has the multi-lingual Mahanati in her kitty, apart from the Thiagarajan Kumararaja directorial Super Deluxe.
