The CEO of T9 News channel and a DR assistant at Secretariat along with two others were arrested by Central Crime Station Police in Hyderabad on Tuesday for allegedly running a job fraud.

The accused are reported to have cheated several people on the pretext of arranging jobs for them in TSGENCO.

According to a Deccan Chronicle report:

Komi Reddy, the CEO of T9 News channel, Dara Venkateshwara Rao, working as a DR Assistant at Secretariat and T. Ramesh, working as a lab assistant at a private college along with another person B. Naresh Babu are accused of cheating two unemployed youths by promising jobs and taking Rs 5 lakh from them. Srisai Venu and E. Mahesh applied for the job of assistant engineer in Genco. They approached Ramesh, who assured them of arranging the job. He demanded Rs 10 lakh for the job and took Rs 2.5 lakh as advance.

“The victim paid a total of Rs. 5 lakh as advance after the gang members assured to provide them the exam question paper a day before the test. Later, they started avoiding them,” T. Prabhakar Rao, Joint Commissioner of Police, Detective Department told The Hindu.

The report adds that the accused also confessed to have collected Rs 1 lakh each from ten candidates for securing Group D jobs in the railway. The police recovered Rs. 2.68 lakh and four mobile phones from them.
