According to aĀ report in The Times of IndiaĀ , the details of the package were discussed in a meeting on Monday with the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and several of Modiās council of ministers, which included representatives from Bihar.Ā Reportedly the package will include a 4,000 mw power plant, an extension of the IndianOil refinery at Barauni and the restoration of a fertilizer plant at the same location. The construction of a railway bridge over the Ganga in Mokamah is also set to go forward.Ā The private sector is also reportedly pitching in and will reportedly set up food parks to enable processing of farm produce indigenously. Other cash-rich public sector companies are also expected to be asked to allot a higher amount from their corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds to set up schools and toilets.Ā āThe finance minister met various ministers and we discussed if special assistance can be given to Bihar. Different departments have given suggestions. The FM will consider them and after consulting the prime minister, will decide what kind of help can be given to Bihar,ā BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi, reportedly said.Ā This move by the Centre comes after the SP of Mulayam Singh Yadav, the RJD of Lalu Prasad Yadav and the JD (U) of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar have come together to reform the Janata Parivar.
