Director Vivek Athreya who scored back-to-back hits with Mental Madhilo and Brochevarevarura is now gearing up for his third project which is going to be a quirky thriller.
Brochevarevarura, which released in June this year, was a crime comedy that went on to become a big hit. The film was produced by Vijay Kumar Manyam under the banner of Manyam Productions. It starred Sree Vishnu, Nivetha Thomas, Nivetha Pethuraj, Satyadev Kancharana in the lead roles with Priyadarshi Pullikonda, Rahul Ramakrishna in important roles. Vivek Sagar had composed music for this film with Sai Sriram taking care of the cinematography and Raviteja Girijala doing the editing.
Following the success of the film expectations were high as to what director Vivek Athreya’s next would be. Now, according to industry sources, the young director has committed to do a project to three big banners in Tollywood, namely Mythri Movie Makers, DVV Entertainments and Matinee Entertainments. Sources in the know say that Vivek Athreya is busy with the scripting work and the project will have an ensemble star cast and will be launched soon. Details about the film’s lead actors and crew will be revealed one the scripting is done as per reports.
He has also been approached to do a project under the most successful producer in Tollywood, Dil Raju, but nothing is confirmed as of now. Vivek was also recently roped in to pen the dialogues for the debut film of Bellamkonda Ganesh, which is to be directed by Pavan Sadineni.
Vivek Athreya made his debut as a director with Mental Madhilo, a couple of years ago. It is a romantic comedy that was produced by Raj Kandukuri under the banner Dharmapatha Creations. The film had Sree Vishnu, and Nivetha Pethuraj in lead roles with Amrutha Srinivasan, Shivaji Raja, Madhumani, Raj Madiraju and Anita Chowadary in pivotal roles. Songs and background score for the movie are composed by Prashanth R Vihari and Vedaraman S handled the cinematography while Viplav Nyshadam did the editing. With Vivek Athreya roping in Sree Vishnu for his first two films, it would be interesting to see if he would sign up the same hero for his third venture as well.
