On Sunday, Bigg Boss Tamil saw some of the show's evicted contestants return to the stage as guests. Julie, Harathi, Shakti, Bharani and Gayathri appeared on the show and chatted briefly with host Kamal Haasan about life after they walked out of the Bigg Boss house.

When it was her turn, comedian Harathi removed the wig on her head and revealed that she'd shaved her hair for the sake of cancer patients. Donating hair to make wigs for cancer patients and spread awareness about the toll that the disease takes on an affected person is something more and more celebrities are doing.

After Harathi spoke about why she shaved her head, Kamal Haasan opened up about his own personal life.

"When Ms Gautami had cancer, both of us shaved our heads to make her daughter feel all right with the situation," said Kamal.

Kamal and Gautami were in a live-in relationship for 13 years before they decided to call it quits. His co-star at one point, Kamal and Gautami came together when the latter was fighting her battle with breast cancer.

Speaking on their journey at an event conducted by Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation and KIMS hospital in 2009, Kamal had said, “I have done many films as cancer patient, but I have got them all wrong."

“Unintentional, yet subversive messages go out of all the movies about health and many other aspects," he'd added.

Earlier, Oviya had put out a video in which she explained that the reason behind her much talked about "radical" haircut was hair donation for cancer patients.
