The News Minute | August 25, 2014 | 4.39 pm IST Aboobakar Siddique, the alleged brain behind the recent killings of Hindu leaders in the state, still eludes investigators handling the murders in Tamil Nadu.  ‘Police’ Fakruddin has told police during questioning that he and a Jihadi squad were only carrying out operations on the command of explosive-expert Aboobakar Siddique. Siddique, an Afghan-bomb maker has evaded the police for over two decades, despite intense searches conducted after a number of Hindu leader killings, according to a report in Deccan Chronicle (DC). “Siddique gave them the targets’ names, mobile numbers, photographs, addresses and paper clippings to the elimination squad that was assembled for each operation. He also held motivation sessions that ended with the pledge that there would be no hesitation and no compromising on resolve for eliminating the target in the name of Jihad”, said an informed source in the DC report. ‘Police’ Fakruddin, Panna Ismail, and Bilal Malik, were arrested in October last year in a joint operation by the Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh police. The gang led by Siddique is also said to be responsible for for the bomb blast outside BJP’s Chennai office in April last year and the pipe bomb planted on L K Advani’s route near Madurai in 2011.
