Sajid Khan's Humshakals, a comedy about three look alike in triple roles, is all set for a weekend release. The movie which stars Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor promises to be a laugh-riot. However, what caught our attention was the trailer that shows all the leading men cross-dressed in some scenes in the movie.

Cross-dressing, especially men dressing as women, in Bollywood is not a new concept. Usually used in comedy films, many actors have cross-dressed in movies, and have given Hindi cinema some iconic characters, that still remain etched in our memories. Others, have just been a treat to watch.

Here is a list of actors who not just cross-dressed, but carried it with equal panache, often giving stiff competition to their female counterparts. You get to choose your favourite!

1. Kamal Hassan in Chachi 420 (1997)

Bollywood had its share of 'maa' and 'pitaji's until then. And then Hassan gifted it its most popular Chachi.

2. Govinda in Aunty No. 1 (1998)

Govinda's acting and comic skills were never to be doubted. However, in Aunty No 1, he went several miles ahead with his performance.

3. Amitabh Bachhan in Lawaris (1981)

Amitabh Bachhan's version of 'Mere angne mein tumhara kya kaam hai' is today considered a classic.

4. Riteish Deshmukh in Apna Sapna Money Money (2006)

Many remember the movie solely due to Deshmukh's comic performance. He romances a very cute Anupam Kher in the super-hit song 'Dekha jo tujhe yaar, dil mein baji guitar'.

5.  Saif Ali Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Ram Kapoor in Humshakals (2014)

The pictures speak for themselves. Need we say more?

6. Aamir Khan in Baazi (1995)

This perfectionist Khan had played the role of a woman in Baazi way before he appeared as a lovely lady in several advertisements in recent years. Full marks for that killer expression!

7. Shreyas Talpade in Paying Guests (2009)

Although the movie didn't fare well, Talpade is worth the watch.

8. Javed Jaffrey in Paying Guest (2009)

Javed Jaffrey gives company to Shreyas Talpade in the movie. He seems to be doing justice to his role.

9. Shahid Kapoor in Milenge Milenge (2010)

Milenge Milenge is a movie that many probably haven't heard of. Starring the then couple Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, the movie faced many a delays in its release. Kapoor dressed as a woman in the movie needed a mention if not anything else.
