The Rajinikanth starrer Petta, which is currently in progress, has a bevy of talented stars in the cast. Recently it was announced that Malayalam actor Manikandan R Achari of Kammatipaadam fame has been roped in to play an important role in the film. On getting to share screen space with the Superstar for the first time in his career, Manikandan had said that he is excited and happy. He also took to social media to share his experience on working in Petta and particularly with Rajinikanth.
In a Facebook post written in Malayalam, Manikandan shared that the Superstar is a very humble person sans any ego. He also praised the star for his punctuality. Additionally, Manikandan wrote that Rajinikanth has the energy of a 20-year-old. It is a blessing to work with an actor like him, he stated.
Directed by Karthik Subburaj, Petta is being bankrolled by Kalanidhi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures. On Rajini’s role in the film, we hear that he plays a professor and a vigilante. The film has Vijay Sethupathi playing an important role and this will be the first time he is sharing screen space with the Superstar too.
In the star cast of the film are Simran, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Megha Akash, Bobby Simha and Nawazuddin Siddiqui who will be playing important roles. Anirudh Ravichander is composing the tunes for this gangster actioner with Tirru cranking the camera and Vivek Harshan being in charge of the editing. The rest of the technical crew include Peter Hein for stunt choreography, Suresh Selvarajan for production design, Kunal Rajan as sound designer, Niharika Khan and Praveen Raja as costume designers, and Baba Bhaskar and Sheriff for dance choreography. Petta will also require a lot of computer graphics and Prime Focus has been signed up to take care of the VFX.
