Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumarasamy has had a long association with the film world as a producer, distributor and exhibitor. And now, he’s also turning into the subject of a film, with a biopic on the former CM set to be made.
Being produced under the banner of Chennambika Films, the film titled Bhoomi Putra will star Action King Arjun and is being directed by S Narayan. According to reports, the title Bhoomi Putra was registered by another production house, but the makers of the biopic got the title transferred over to Chennambika Films.
Kumaraswamy, Karnataka President of the Janata Dal (Secular) and the son of the former Prime Minister of India HD Deve Gowda, has had a close connection with the Kannada film industry through his home banner Chennambika Films.
He has produced films like Surya Vamsha (1999), Galate Aliyandru (2000), Chandra Chakori (2003), and Jaguar (2016). Jaguar also marked the debut of his son Nikhil in Sandalwood. Interestingly, except Jaguar, which was directed by Mahadev, the other three films were all directed by S Narayan.
What Kumaraswamy’s followers are most interested to know is who will form the rest of the cast, and which events of the leader’s life will feature in the biopic.
