A fire broke out on the sets of reality show Bigg Boss Kannada at Innovative Film City, in Bidadi, 40 kms from Bengaluru, early on Thursday morning.

The fire started around 3:30 am and burnt down the sets of the popular reality TV show. The fire also melted the wax museum and gutted other structures that are part of the set.

The fire department dispatched twelve vehicles, which reached the venue at around 3:45 am.

The operation lasted over five hours and they managed to douse the flames only at 9:30 am.

No casualties have been reported so far, and fire department officials said that the cause of the fire is still unknown.

"The fire is suspected to have broken out at about 3:30 am and has burned down the Bigg Boss Kannada set. The wax museum first caught fire, before it spread to other parts of the set," Sub-Inspector at Bidadi Police Station AV Kumar said.

Goods worth few lakhs of rupees are estimated to have been destroyed in the fire.

Innovative Film City, situated in Ramanagara district, is an entertainment park and film studio that houses several reality television shows' sets and museums.

“We don’t know how exactly how much damage has been caused due to the fire, but we have brought in fire officials and electricians, who are trying to determine the cause. There was no one at the venue when the fire occurred and, so far, no casualties have been reported,” added Kumar.

Officials at Innovative Film City have barred media persons and visitors from entering the venue.
