Actors Riyaz Khan and Uma Riyaz’s son Shariq Haasan shot to limelight with the Bigg Boss Tamil show recently. He is now all set to make his acting debut with the Tamil flick Uggram.
Wielding the megaphone for this venture will be Rathan Linga, who had directed Attu earlier. The shooting of Uggram will begin on December 14 and the groundwork for it is already on. Plans are on to shoot Uggram in various locations in Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Tirunelveli, Trichy, and Chennai, we hear.
On Uggram, the director had told in an interview that was published on cinemaexpress.com, “I wanted to explore a diametrically opposite genre for my second film after living in Kasimedu for nearly five years for Attu. As such, Uggram will be a stylish blend of action and romance. The triangular-chasing script will involve three interesting storylines - an eloped couple who are on their way to get secretly married, a mysterious intruder who kidnaps the girl during the journey, and a team which is close on the heels of the couple for a reason. These tracks eventually intertwine with each other.”
On choosing Shariq Haasan for the role, the director had said, “The script required the lead to be constantly on the run, and accordingly I was looking for someone young, agile and energetic. Shariq, who was fresh from all the Bigg Boss attention fitted the bill to the T.”
Archana Ravi, who played the female in the director’s debut movie Attu, has been roped in for Uggram as well. The director has said that she would be apt to play a college student in Uggram. Bobo Shashi has been signed up to compose the tunes for this venture.
