Scriptwriter-turned-actor Bibin George has so far done character roles, villain roles and lead roles as well. According to the latest update, he has found a berth in Mammootty’s upcoming film Shylock. Bibin George will have an important role in the film.

Mammootty and director Ajai Vasudev are teaming up for Shylock and this is the third time they are working together. The film will have Meena playing the female lead with veteran Tamil actor Raj Kiran also in an important role. Interestingly, the film will mark the debut of Raj Kiran in the Malayalam film industry.

Touted to be a family entertainer, we hear that Mammootty will be playing a character with negative shades in the film. Shylock is scripted by debutants Bibin Mohan and Aneesh Hameed. Joby George will be bankrolling the venture under his banner Goodwill Entertainment. Gopi Sunder has been roped in to compose the tunes for this flick with lyrics penned by Harinarayanan. Renadive will be cranking the camera for this venture.

Speaking about Shylock in an interview to cinemaexpress, Mammootty has said earlier, “Though my character is a rich miser, he is not actually named Shylock. This title was chosen to keep it stylish.” On Raj Kiran’s role in the film, Mammootty said, “He plays a strong and powerful character; not someone we brought in just to do some stunts. Considering the fact that Rajkiran is a selective actor, I'm happy that he agreed to do this film.”

While the shooting of Shylock commenced earlier this month, Mammootty’s two other films Ganagandharvan and Mamangam have reached the post-production stage. Both these films are likely to hit the marquee by the end of this year. His last release in Malayalam, Unda, has been well received. Directed by Khalid Rahman, the film had Mammootty play an SI leading a team of young policemen to a Maoist-affected area in Chhattisgarh for election duty.
