Tollywood star Mahesh Babu is basking in the success of his latest outing Bharat Ane Nenu, which has struck gold at the box office and revived the actor’s fortunes after two back-to-back flops.
At the film’s thank you meet earlier this week, Mahesh thanked director Koratala Siva for giving him a blockbuster when he needed it the most. “The last two years were emotionally draining and stressful. I don’t know how to react, but I’m really relieved and happy with this success. The tension of disappointing my fans over the last two years haunted me. Even though I knew deep down we had made a good film, I wanted audiences to watch and decide,” the actor said.
At the meet, when Koratala was asked if he had plans to work with Mahesh on another project, he said that they would definitely team up again. “We’ll definitely work together. Whenever that happens, it has to be a much bigger film. I need to have a bigger story than Srimanthudu and Bharat Ane Nenu. Currently, I don’t have a story and when I do, I’ll go ring the bell at Mahesh’s house,” he said.
Having grossed over Rs 125 crore and still counting, Bharat Ane Nenu has impressed critics and audiences alike. On Wednesday, Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao watched the film at a special screening and seemed to have thoroughly enjoyed it. He tweeted: “Did an interactive session with good friend @urstrulyMahesh and director @sivakoratala on being in public life and the movie ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’, which I personally enjoyed.”

Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that Mahesh’s next film with director Vamsi Paidipally will start rolling from June. The project marks Paidipally’s first collaboration with Mahesh. Paidipally had earlier said: “Mahesh is very excited about the project. When he heard the first narration, he was ready to go ahead. It’s going to be a big film in both of our careers.” It is rumoured that the film will be predominantly shot in the US and Europe.
Later this year, Mahesh will join hands with Rangasthalam director Sukumar for a yet-untitled project. Even though not much information is available regarding this film, it is learnt that it will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers, who bankrolled Rangasthalam, which has become the third biggest grossing Telugu film after the Baahubali series.
