The Baahubali fever is everywhere and nobody can escape it. Recently, music composer and Oscar winner AR Rahman was asked if he'd like to do a film like Baahubali someday.

Rahman, for those who don't know yet, is making his directorial debut with Le Musk, a Virtual Reality film that is based on the sense of smell. The film has Nora Arnezeder, Guy Burnet, Munirih Grace and Mariam Zohrabyan in lead roles.

In an interview to PTI, AR Rahman was asked if he would like to direct a virtual reality film like Baahubali. To this Rahman said, “Grandeur is too overwhelming in VR. You feel tired after sometime. For example, a war scene (like in 'Baahubali'), you could feel the pressure. In 3D, the pressure is felt farther.”

Stating that films like Baahubali require a lot of money, the musician- director pointed out, “I don't want to make a film as grand as Baahubali because we have other grander directors who can make such films. Plus, I don't have Rs 200 crore.”

He added, “I want to create the music, the beauty, the visuals. I want to create a world for people, so that they would never want to come out of it. I have even tried to portray the negative aspects of the story poetically, so that it doesn't bother you spiritually.”

AR Rahman’s YM Movies will be collaborating with PVR for Le Musk. The film will be the world’s first Virtual Reality multisensory episodic feature film. On getting PVR onboard, Rahman said in the interview, “When I had this idea of making the film, we met people at PVR. We presented the idea and asked them to have a look at it as VR is the future.”

AR Rahman made his debut as musician with the Mani Ratnam directorial Roja way back in the early 1990s and since then has worked in several projects both in India as well as abroad. Le Musk will mark his directorial debut.
