A 26-year-old sweeper at an  apartment in Bengaluru was arrested for allegedly harassing a toddler. The incident happened on Wednesday near an apartment on Sarjapur road in HSR layout police station limits.

According to Srinivas Reddy, inspector at HSR layout police station, the accused worked in the apartment where the victim lived. The victim is a one-year-and-five-month old girl. 

"The accused is from Nepal and has been working in this apartment complex for over 6 months now. He had picked up the girl from inside the campus where she was playing in the afternoon.  He took her to his shed that is adjacent to the complex," Reddy said. 

Police said that some scratch marks were seen on the toddler's body, however, only a medical report will confirm what really happened. 

The accused has been arrested and a case of harassment has been registered under the POCSO Act.
