Bengaluru Police book over 16,000 cases against errant two-wheeler riders

The Bengaluru police on Wednesday carried out a drive against errant two-wheeler riders in the city.
The drive, which started at 6 am and lasted till 5 pm, was conducted in all seven police divisions in the city, states a report by The New Indian Express.
The police by the end of the day had booked 16,475 cases and the offences included carrying more than one pillion, riding without a licence, straying on the footpath, and not wearing a helmet, states the report.
253 vehicles without proper documents were also seized by the police. 148 driving licences have also been sent to RTO to put those under suspension.
