It has been over a week since demonetization struck India and tremors of cash crunch still rock the daily lives of Bengalureans. With endless queues at the ATMs, mostly yielding 2000 rupee notes or nothing, the city could very well be on its way to a cashless lifestyle.

Contributing to this surge towards a cashless future, DIVRT, a cloud-based smart parking system was launched at the UB city mall on Saturday.

DIVRT allows users to book a parking spot for themselves via a mobile app, and make a cashless prepaid transaction.

The App

With the vision to make less of a daily hassle, this end-to-end smart parking management application has a ‘human-centered design approach’ which aims to get their customers into and out of a parking spot in a fast and cashless manner as possible. Their motto -“Stop paying for parking with your time".

DIVRT accepts mobile methods of payment like Credit and Debit card, PayPal, Paytm auto-debit flow, Net-banking and UPI, according to Raghavendra Prasad -co-founder and president of DIVRT.

“With demonetization, it has become a needful change. Here, at UB city, we have been educating people about cashless payments for parking, and with 1600 parking spots under our control, we ensure a stress-free process,” he said.

After the event launch at VR mall, DIVRT aims to make malls inside and outside the city opt for cash-less payments.

A Green Initiative

“Through promoting a cashless society, we are heading towards a greener world. And DIVRT actually does so through its paperless payments and tickets. Even the receipts are sent via email,”, Raghavendra added.

They also intend on extending the initiative to other malls in the city, including the Prestige and Forum malls. “Already 4-5 malls in the pipeline for December,” he says.
