The Additional Sessions Court Thrisuur on Tuesday postponed the bail plea hearing of Mohammed Nisham, the beedi tycoon and the accused in Chandrabose murder case, to September 11.

As Nisham’s remand period under the Kerala Antisocial Activities Prevention Act (KAAPA) is about to be over in next four days, the defense counsel filed a bail plea at the court.

However Manormaonline reports that the prosecution has decided to request the court not to grant bail to Nisham as he may undermine the case in which the witnesses' trial is yet to be finished.

Nisham was slapped with KAAPA in March and has been detained for last six months. He will be eligible for bail only after his detention period under the Act ends.

It was on January 29 that the 'King Beedi' owner Mohammed Nisham allegedly assaulted and rammed his car over Chandrabose, a security guard at Shobha City apartments, Thrissur. Chandrabose later succumbed to injuries.
