South Interior Karnataka received 23 per cent excess rainfall in this year's monsoon, states the data released by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). There has been no floods in these regions; but at the same time most of the excess water could not be stored due to absence of proper mechanism to conserve the excess water, adds the report.
